When the GC asks for the annual and the operator's card, send one link.
CraneFile keeps every crane's inspections and every operator's cards current. When a job needs the paperwork, the GC gets one link with all of it, and it updates itself when you swap the crane or the operator.
For crane rental and crane service companies running 3 to 30 cranes.

What's in the packet, and the rule behind each piece
These are the papers general contractors, plant owners and agencies ask for before your crane shows up. Most shops keep them in a binder, a phone's camera roll and someone's inbox.
| What the GC asks for | Where the rule is | How often it changes | What CraneFile does |
|---|---|---|---|
| Annual inspection certificate and the full report | 29 CFR 1926.1412(f) | Every 12 months | Holds the certificate and report, warns you 30 days out |
| Monthly inspection records | 1926.1412(e) | Monthly, kept at least 3 months | Operators fill them on the phone, the last three go in the packet |
| Shift inspection | 1926.1412(d) | Every shift | Done on the phone, works with no signal, signed and time-stamped |
| Operator certification card | 1926.1427 | Renews every 5 years | Photo of the card, expiry tracked |
| Operator evaluation by the employer | 1926.1427(f) | Per operator, per type of equipment | Simple form, kept with the operator's file |
| Rigger and signal person qualifications | 1926.1425, 1926.1428 | When the crew changes | Cards and documentation per person |
| Load chart for that machine | 1926.1417(c) | Per crane, by serial number | Stored against the serial so the right chart goes out |
| Certificate of insurance, Green Sticker number | GC and owner contracts | Yearly | Stored, dated, sent with the rest |
States can ask for more. California and Washington both do. Read the plain-English guides.
Setup is done for you
You don't type anything in. Send us what you have, in whatever shape it's in, and we load it.

Send us what you have
Photos of the binder, a box of paper, a shared drive. Whatever you've got.
We load it in 48 hours
Every crane, every operator, every expiry date. If it takes longer, your first month is free.
Operators do the shift inspection on the phone
A link, not an app. It works without signal and saves the time and signature.
The GC gets one link
Annual, monthlies, cards, load chart and insurance in one place. Swap the crane or the operator and the link updates.

It warns you before something runs out
Annual due next month. An operator's card expiring in the spring. A rigger whose qualification nobody wrote down. CraneFile watches the dates and tells you while there's still time to book the inspector.
No dashboards to learn. A text or an email to whoever runs the paper, with what's due and when.
Keep what already works
CraneFile doesn't replace your dispatch, your accounting or your inspector. It keeps the paperwork they all depend on.
Dispatch
Whiteboard, spreadsheet or dispatch software: keep it. CraneFile only needs to know which crane and which operator are going where.
QuickBooks
Your billing stays where it is. Tickets and packets can be attached to the job.
Your inspector
Your annual inspector still does the annual. We store the certificate and report, and remind you before the next one.
Where CraneFile stands today
We are building CraneFile with ten founding crane shops, by hand first. Founding shops get 50% off for the first 12 months, setup done for them, and a weekly call where they tell us what to build next.
Reserving costs $99 and is fully refundable any time before launch. It comes off your first bill.

Questions owners ask
Is CraneFile ready to use today?
Not yet. We are building it with a small group of founding crane shops. If you reserve a spot we load your paperwork by hand first, and you get the app as it is ready. You can get a full refund any time before launch.
Is this another OSHA inspection app?
No. Inspection apps stop at the form. CraneFile keeps the whole file for each crane and each operator current, and sends the jobsite packet to the GC as one link. Your inspector still does the annual. We just keep the paper.
Do my operators need an email address or a password?
No. Operators open a link on their phone. No app store, no email, no password to forget.
What if there's no cell signal on the job?
Shift inspections save on the phone and send when the phone finds signal again.
Does it replace my dispatch board or QuickBooks?
No. Keep your whiteboard, your dispatch software and QuickBooks. CraneFile sits beside them.
Who can see the packet link?
Only the people you send it to. You can turn a link off at any time.
How is it priced?
Per crane, with unlimited users, month to month. See the pricing page.
